Let me first say that I do like this product. It is well thought out, and I believe it is sturdy and good quality. I installed using the grommet through the desk (the instructions really did NOT help with this in terms of how to measure, etc. If mounting through the desk, you will need to make sure that you leave enough room for the plate under the desk to ensure it will fit. I got it "just right", almost by accident. Once installed, it is very sturdy on the desk-top. My 32" curved Philips is on the high end of the recommended range at 17 lbs, but it seems to hold up very nicely. I did have to significantly tighten the VESA Mount so it would not "droop" but the limits the tilting function. Here's the issues I had with my particular delivery:1. Missing Parts: The VESA Mounts were missing from the box (Poor Quality Control or..... a Return). - I received on a Sunday so called next business day and the rep' promptly sent via USPS Priority Mail the 2 VESA mounts that SHOULD have been in the box. At that point I didn't really inspect much closer. I should have.2. Clearly a Return: As can be seen from the tool marks on the pic I posted, it had been previously used / installed / whatever. None of this affects functionality, but when I buy New, I want NEW, not "New-ish"...3. Also Missing: Underneath the base, there are rubber washers to protect the desktop. Mine was missing 1 and the other I found in stuck to the top of the base. Again, quality check issues. I had to fabricate something to keep the plate properly "balanced" (used a 3M strip that I cut).Since I had to seriously tighten the VESA mount, I'm not really able to tilt the monitor much as previously noted. The height adjustment from the base is a very novel mechanism. You pull out the lever and drop it back down to rotate it. This means you don't have to use a wrench or screwdriver to adjust. The main post does have 2 very small screws that can be tightened once you screw the mounting post into place, however they are small and a bit flimsy, so I just left them as they are.I like that the Base has USB ports and it came with 2 3.0 USB cables, so very nice to have that for charging USB devices, etc. The VESA mounts are also quick-release in case you have to remove or change the monitor (nice). For the price, I think this is a decent product and I would recommend it, just be sure you get what you pay for, and confirm the box contents before you start to install.Recommend if you plan to use this for a Sit/Stand type of application that you put the arm support higher on the post.Installation Tip for using Grommet.1. As my father used to say. Measure twice, cut once. Make sure you have the positioning of the mount before you drill a hole in your desk, I marked mine, but I also put duct-tape on the desk top and bottom, before I drilled the hole just in case the drill slipped or the finish started to separate. Minimum desk thickness is 1" I believe (which mine is).
